2017 August Expenses Review

CutSpending

My August expenses were lower than last month’s by over $200. All the categories were below budget. Since August was a warm month, we mostly stayed home with baby butterfly with central AC on at all times.

Monthly Expenses By Category August
Fix Expenses
Mortgage 829
HOA / Property Tax 979
Insurance (HO/Car) 173
Utility (Electricity, Phone, DSL) 104
Total Fix Expenses 2,085
Variable Expenses
Gasoline/Car Related 80
Dining Out/Grocery 229
Clothing/Personal Care 0
Household 16
Entertainment/Leisure 36
Medical/Health 17
Childcare 24
Misc 6
Total Variable Expenses 408
Total Monthly Expenses 2,493
2017 Expenses YTD 21,759

My fix expenses went up this month since both my HOA and my insurance premiums went up this year. I was able to save on most categories because we barely went out in August because it was so hot. My Dining Out/Grocery category continue to be so low because it is being subsidized by my partner and sometimes family.

August Passive Income = $ 887.20

August Expenses = $ 2,493

Shortage = $ 1,605.80

My August passive income covers about 36 % of monthly expenses. Year to date is 29%.

Cheers,
